5 Reasons Why College Students Should Start a Company

#1 Because you’re young.  When you have time on your side, if it doesn’t go as planned, no big deal, you have the rest of your life to make things work out.
#2 You’ll have support. You’ll have the support of your teachers, your friends, your family, and investors who specifically invest in college students such as the Dorm Room fund (if you’re lucky).
#3 You’ll make mistakes. You will make a lot of mistakes, and you will be glad you did this early on. This way, when you graduate college and you’re in the real world, you won’t have to make those mistakes as an adult, and it’s such a relief to know that.
#4 You’re in college.  This means you have thousands of students at your disposal to be your beta testers and to get feedback, to get surveys answered, and of course to get user experience and market research done without having to pay any money for it
#5 A better future.  If you succeed in college, the rest of your life will be much better for having done so. If you succeed in a big way, then you won’t have to get a job in the real world, and you will be able to continue the company you started in college when you graduate. In the least, companies will want to hire you with a hefty salary because they will see what you have accomplished while you were in college.
So what are you waiting for?  Go invent the next big thing while enjoying the best years of your life!
